He wanted common Mexican references to be represented in the logo. I chose to do an illustration representing an invisible mexican ombre with a fiery mustache celebrating the place on a backdrop of a "sunny" tortilla. Paired with a playful typography, the idea was to transmit the identity and friendliness of the place to the potential customers.

Logo designed for a construction company who offers general construction services including new and remodeling builds and property maintenance. The company culture is Mexican-american roots (minority owned) with a Texan western flair. Brandmark, letter V constructed in golden ratio and separated in 4 color defined elements that part the form in intriguing color and form composition. Brandmark is paired with a geometric, elegant typeface with a vintage feeling. Wordmark has incorporated modification that brings the weight of the characters closer to the ground. The logo is available in a vertical and horizontal composition. When used in monochrome options different colors are represented as brandmark character construction. Brandmark elements can be used in the creation of different textures and patterns that serve as supporting branding resources.

This Ape Loves Mexican Food

“Papi Chango” is a take away restaurant offering fresh Mexican food – mainly Tacos and Burritos - in a vivid and uplifting Latin atmosphere. “Papi” not only is the Spanish word for “Daddy“, in Latin America it is also a slang to describe an attractive, handsome, cool and easy going male. “Chango” is also a slang word which means “Monkey”. Clear the stage for this Chango, who will surely be rated as attractive in the female monkey world. This Chango conveys at first glance how delicious the food of “Papi Chango” is. It is a fun and cool character with a high recognition value. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him on T-Shirts in the near future. Paired with a strong typography and enriched by subtle Mexican symbols the logo sends out the right message for those who love Mexican food.

Taqueria El Camino is a taqueria from Pennsilvania, where they slow cook meats in a traditional mexican pot called a comal. The tortillas are hand made from fresh corn masa. El Camino translates to "the road" but client would love to see a visual representation of the Chevy El camino. Specifically the 1969 Chevy El Camino Malibu for the car model. I created hand-drawn vintage illustration of the Chevy for the design and used lively colors that suits the business.

Logo Design for an authentic Mezcal restaurant run by a husband and wife duo in Waco, Texas. Their business objective is to offer something exciting and new to small-town residents and tourists, teach them about the history of Mezcal, and serve the best food & drinks in a homey atmosphere. As the brand’s name is an homage to the Mexican actress María Félix, I decided to depict her in the logo, along with an agave plant. From the brief: "We plan to open a self-service café. Various coffee-, fresh milk- and tea drinks can be ordered on the go: quick, individually and in a very high quality. The target group is travelling, in their way in the morning to work / school, at lunch time or in the evening on the way back home. The customers can take their favorite drinks "on the road". The customers are quality conscious, between 16-40 years young. Both men and women feel attracted by a modern, hypen but also grounded sales store. Our Mexican roots are recognizable in the design and the product." The design intent was to create a 'mascot' depicting an Aztec/Mayan character holding a coffee bean.
