Redesign of a web-based map for an internet cabling company. Requirement was to keep the original style somewhat but update the extent of the cabling and emphasize some of the major nodes. In this iteration I opted for a moody dark map (which would work well with their web site style). The nodes are hazy light points of varying sizes - this glowing light effect helps draw the viewer's eye to the nodes, providing potential clients/users with reference points on the map. The company didn't want extensive labels, just an overview image.

My client had a photo that needed to be stylized to fit in with his website design, and he wanted text added that blended slightly with the scene. I painted over about 50% of the photo with solid colors (reducing the gradients across areas) and ran a PSD filter over the remainder to soften it. The text was given a flowing layout to mimic movement in the wind, and the font was drawn over with a cloud-like wispy brush.
